Equitable Access In Primary Medical Care
Gloucestershire Procurement
Following the NHS Next Stage Review Interim Report (October 2007) carried out by Lord Darzi (the Report), the Equitable Access in Primary Medical Care Programme has been established to promote delivery of fair and more personalised care.
Ministers have announced that the Government will be providing new investment of £250m to support PCTs in establishing:
- at least 100 new general practices in the 25% of PCTs with the poorest provision,
and
- one new GP-led health centre in each PCT in easily accessible locations
The Gloucestershire response to this programme is focused on the provision of a GP-led health centre. The focus of the service will be to address health inequalities in an urban area in a culturally sensitive way and on enabling access to primary care for the working population.
A memorandum of Information (MOI) for this scheme is attached here.
Expressions of Interest in tendering for this contract should be made, in line with the instructions in the MOI, before noon on Friday 6th June 2008. On receipt of an Expression of Interest a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire will be issued.
