Achieving Excellence

Achieving Excellence - Have your say on the future direction of your local NHS

16.06.2009

NHS Gloucestershire is inviting local partners and the public to have their say on the big questions which will influence the future direction of health services with a survey launched today.

In the coming weeks, NHS Gloucestershire will be developing its Strategic Plan. The plan is intended to bring together in one place for the first time, the challenges and priorities, which have an impact on the delivery of their vision:

‘Achieving Excellence in health for the people of Gloucestershire.’

To support the development of the Plan a briefing document and questionnaire has now been made available to staff, partners and the public.

The briefing document sets out:

Chief Executive of NHS Gloucestershire, Jan Stubbings said:

“The briefing document and questionnaire will provide staff, partners and the public with the opportunity to feedback on what they think needs to be done to further support people to live healthier lives and improve services.”

“NHS Gloucestershire has a budget of £850 million and it is therefore imperative that the decisions we make on local priorities are consistent with the needs of our communities. We are actively encouraging people to have their say and join the hundreds of residents who did so last year.”

The questionnaire seeks feedback on the key health issues facing the county and asks people for their views on what the NHS should be doing to support individuals, families and communities in meeting their health needs.

The briefing document: ‘Achieving Excellence in Health for the People of Gloucestershire – Next Steps 2009/10’ and questionnaire have been published on NHS Gloucestershire’s website at www.nhsglos.nhs.uk (Patient and Public Involvement Section) and can also be posted out, or e-mailed on request, by contacting the Community Involvement Team.
