New Lydney Dental Practice Welcomes First Patients

Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust has today announced that the new dental practice in Lydney will welcome its first NHS patients on Monday 17 November.

The practice, in Newerne Street, has the capacity for around 11,000 NHS patients. It is staffed by four full-time dentists and offers routine NHS dental care.

The PCT has been working with Oasis Dental Care Ltd (the PCT’s business partners in the project) on establishing the new practice.

Details on how to sign up to be seen at the new practice were given out during the summer and hundreds of people have already taken up the offer.

Rachel Hayward, Practice Manager said: “We are delighted with the response we have had and will be busy from the moment we open. We are still accepting NHS patients but we ask that people are patient in awaiting confirmation of appointments.”

Jan Stubbings, Chief Executive of the PCT, said: “This is another important development for NHS dentistry in Gloucestershire and builds on the opening of practices in Cheltenham, Tewkesbury and Cirencester in the past year.

“We know that access to NHS dentistry is important to people in Gloucestershire and we will be continuing to invest funds in expanding provision for the benefit of local patients.”

The new practice will not be open until 1pm on Monday.
