Lydney Dental Practice Gears Up for Opening
21/08/2008
Gloucestershire PCT today announced details of how people can express an interest in receiving assessment and treatment at the new dental practice due to open in Lydney.
The PCT and Oasis Dental Ltd (the PCT’s business partners in the project) are aiming to open a new practice in Newerne Street, Lydney in October. It will provide capacity for around 11,000 NHS patients.
The brand new premises will be staffed by four full-time dentists and will offer routine NHS dental care.
From 21 August 2008, local residents can register online at www.oasisdentalcare.co.uk or send the details to:
Lydney Dental Centre (applications)
c/o Oasis Dental Care
5 St Mary's Street
Worcester
WR1 1HA.
Details for postal registration should include:
- Name, address and date of birth of each person
- Contact telephone numbers
- Current dentist (if applicable)
- Information on whether anyone is undergoing a current course of dental treatment (optional question)
- Approximate date of the last visit to the dentist of each person (if applicable).
All registration details whether submitted online or sent by post should be received no later than Monday 22 September 2008.
Once completed forms are returned by members of the public, Oasis Dental Ltd will be able to log details of patients and contact them when the new practice has a scheduled opening date.
Patients are asked not to visit the practice at this time (it is not yet open). It is not possible to express an interest at the premises or by contacting other NHS telephone numbers.
Local people are asked to be patient as the PCT anticipates that there will be high levels of interest. Oasis Dental Ltd will contact patients about appointments, but it will not be possible to do this immediately.
Chief Executive of Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust, Jan Stubbings said:
"This is a major step forward for NHS Dentistry in the Forest of Dean area and builds on the opening of the hugely popular practices in Cheltenham and Tewkesbury in 2007."
"We are expecting a high level of interest, however everyone will be working hard to ensure that patients benefit from improved access to services and receive the very best care and treatment."
