Trinity Surgery Gets a New Home
30/04/2008
Trinity Surgery in Matson, Gloucester is moving to a new home on Tuesday 6 May 2008.
The existing GP surgery was identified by Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust (PCT) as being not fit for purpose and in need of replacement. The PCT reached agreement with Elim Housing to provide new, refurbished premises at Taylor House.
Taylor House is a short distance from the existing premises so patients will not have to travel any further.
The new surgery, to be called Matson Lane Surgery, will have five consulting rooms, reception area and patient education room which can be used for group work and meetings enabling the surgery to run health education sessions.
Dr Andrew Pearce from the Surgery says: “We are delighted to have a new surgery. These new premises mean we will have a better environment to see our patients in. The patient education room will be a great advantage, as we can run group sessions and use nursing and doctor’s time more productively.”
Chief Executive of Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust, Jan Stubbings, says: “The PCT is committed to delivering a number of replacement GP surgeries in Gloucester for the benefit of patients within the next three years. Trinity Surgery is the first of a number of ‘high ranking’ schemes that we are progressing.
“Both the PCT and local GPs have recognised the need to work together to ensure that we can provide the best possible access to services from the best possible facilities in the future.”
Alistair Allender, Chief Executive of Elim Housing says: “We are very pleased to be working in partnership with the PCT on this project. Elim already has important links with the local community and supporting the development of a new surgery will be of benefit to our tenants and the residents of Matson.”
The existing surgery will close its doors on Friday 2 May and reopen on Tuesday 6 May in the new premises. Matson Lane Surgery will keep the same phone number.
If patients require a GP over the bank holiday weekend when the surgery is closed they should contact the Out Of Hours service on 08454 220220.
