Primary Care Trust Welcomes National Framework
14/12/2007
Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust today welcomed the publication of the NHS Operating Framework which sets out the priorities for the NHS nationally during 2008/2009.
Chief Executive of Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust, Jan Stubbings said:
“The people of Gloucestershire deserve a local NHS that is ambitious in pursuit of excellence in health and we will be striving to make further significant progress over the course of the next year for the benefit of local patients.”
“We are committed to reducing hospital acquired infections, improving standards of cleanliness and we recognise the importance of making sure that health services and opportunities for healthy living are available to all.”
“The NHS locally is working hard to achieve a maximum 18 week wait from GP referral to hospital treatment for patients and we are also committed to a number of partnership projects to improve GP premises and increase the range of services provided in local communities.”
“We must plan effectively for an ageing population by developing services for older people and we will be doing what we can to increase the support to carers who do such a wonderful job.”
“We are genuinely committed to involving local partners, the public and our staff in developing local priorities based on local needs and we look forward to continuing our conversations early in the New Year before finalising our plans.”
“Our staff have contributed to the changes that have brought about a sound financial position and this will enable us to focus on future investments and development of community based services in the coming years. We welcome the additional funds announced by the Department of Health.”
