Tewkesbury Dental Practice Gears Up for Opening
12/12/2007
Gloucestershire PCT today announced a number of ways in which people can express an interest in receiving assessment and treatment at the new dental practice in High Street, Tewkesbury.
The PCT and ADP Dental (the PCT’s business partners in the project) are aiming for a 19 December opening and when fully up and running the Tewkesbury Practice will provide capacity for around 9,600 NHS patients.
The brand new premises will house 4 dental chairs, staffed by four full time dentists and will offer routine NHS dental care.
From 13 December, local residents can get hold of an application pack by:
- emailing a request : Tewkesbury.registration@adpco.net
Collecting one from:
- a Tewkesbury GP Practice: either Church Street, Jesmond House or Watledge Surgeries
- All Tewkesbury Pharmacies or;
- Morrisons Supermarket
OR:
- by calling: 01684 299205 (9am to 5pm).
Patients are asked not to visit the practice at this time (it is not yet open). It is not possible to express an interest at the premises or by contacting other NHS telephone numbers.
Once completed forms are returned by members of the public, contact will be made to arrange first appointments.
Local people are asked to be patient as the PCT anticipates that there will be high levels of interest and telephone lines are expected to be busy. Members of the public are encouraged to e-mail or collect a pack where possible.
Chief Executive of Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust, Jan Stubbings said:
”This is a major step forward for NHS Dentistry in the Tewkesbury area and builds on the opening of the hugely popular Cheltenham Practice earlier this year.”
“We are expecting a high level of interest, however everyone will be working hard to ensure that patients benefit from improved access to services and receive the very best care and treatment.”
Plans for the premises were reviewed earlier this year by the PCT and a representative from the Patients Forum to ensure that they provide good access for all patient groups.
