Ingrid Barker - Non Executive Director
Ingrid
Barker is committed to user involvement and advocacy particularly in mental
health services and she led the establishment of the first mental health
Patients Councils and Advocacy projects in Britain.
Her professional career spanned the NHS, consultancy and the voluntary sector,
including leading Surrey’s Drug Action Team, being Deputy Chief Executive
of an NHS Care Trust, establishing a Salvation Army homelessness project
in central London and as Regional Director for MIND.
As Chair of Governors at Ribston Hall High School, Ingrid is well acquainted
with Gloucester City and she also has strong connections into the rural life
of Gloucestershire. Ingrid lives near Dymock as a Forest of Dean resident
with her husband and two daughters.
